Union League in Philadelphia

April 11, 2023 Wedding Films

Nothing is more lovely than a traditional wedding with a joyful ceremony. The Saint Peter and Paul Basilica Cathedra and The Union League in Philadelphia was the location that Jennifer and Nick selected for their conventional wedding ceremony. Their wedding was classy and traditional. The two were surrounded by friends and family as they exchanged vows and received the title of husband and wife. Jennifer and Nick captured some traditional Philly wedding photos after the ceremony. One of our favorite sites in these vintage photos is city hall. City Hall is a beautiful location for wedding photos at any time of day. The city lights make for great midnight shots of a pair.

The Union League

Following the wedding, Jennifer and Nick traveled to the Union League with relatives and friends for a wonderful celebration. The Union League provides a variety of event spaces to accommodate wedding parties and events of all sizes. When the Union League of Philadelphia was founded in 1862 as a patriotic club to support the Union and President Abraham Lincoln’s policies, it laid the intellectual framework for subsequent Union Leagues across a country torn apart by civil war. Throughout the Civil War, the League has proudly backed American troops in every battle and has hosted American presidents, chiefs of state, business leaders, celebrities, and dignitaries from around the world. The Union League’s initial motto, Eros Patriae Ducit, or Love of Country Leads, still serves as its compass.

Lincoln Hall was the venue of choice for Jennifer and Nick’s celebration. The dress code for weddings at Union League in Philadelphia is typically black tie. The Lincoln Hall Ballroom is a magnificent space with elaborate ceilings and walls that can hold up to 400 guests. One of the most amazing features of this venue is how beautiful it is—you don’t even need a lot of decorations to make it feel magnificent. It has grand chandeliers, tall ceilings, and wall artwork with traditional portraits of former presidents. All of the presidents of the League are represented in portraits in Lincoln Hall, which is thought of as a portrait gallery showcasing over 100 years of portraiture, primarily by Philadelphia artists.

All of their loved ones joined Jennifer and Nick as they danced the night away. Jennifer’s mother, best friend, and Nick’s best man all gave speeches. The speeches honoring Jennifer and Nick’s union were sincere and heartfelt.

Our Allure Films team was thrilled to be a part of the love that permeated this memorable day.

Again, congrats to Jennifer and Nick! A lifetime of joy and love is what we wish for you.
