4 Reasons To Say “I Do!” To A Fall Wedding In Philadelphia

Philadelphia Fall WeddingThese days, “wedding season” lasts all year long!

Thinking about a fall wedding? Allure Films has 4 great reasons to tie the knot in the fall, complete with a sneak peek at an autumn wedding we recently filmed:

1. Breathtaking Backdrop

Fall foliage is a perfect backdrop for your wedding photos!

Whether you’re planning your big day indoors or out, capturing those stunning fall colors in the background is a must!

2. Amazing Color Schemes

Fall lends itself to a wide selection of color schemes from décor, to flowers, to cake, and even dresses! Whether your ideal palette is simple or elaborate, there are plenty of options to choose from. Here are just a few of our favorites:

3. Temperature

In many regions, fall offers predictable temperatures and weather. This can also be an advantage in deciding on your gown. If you prefer sleeves, it won’t be too hot. If you prefer sleeveless, it won’t be too cold (nothing an elegant shawl can’t take care of, at least!)

This past fall, our gorgeous bride, Ali, pulled off this lacy cap-sleeved gown perfectly!

4. Vendor/Venue Availability

While the fall months have gained popularity, the summer months remain the height of wedding season. As a result, this creates more availability for wedding venues and vendors in the fall.

Ali & Matt hosted their special day at The Horticulture Center. This modern venue offers a stunning greenhouse with beautiful fountains and gardens. It was the perfect place for Ali and Matt’s big day!

Rehearsal Dinner Video: Why It Can Make Your Wedding Film Unforgettable

Don’t Overlook Your Rehearsal Dinner!

This pre-wedding tradition is often the first time that many of the important people in the bride and groom’s lives are all together.

It’s a time to celebrate the couple, reflect on their lives, and make memorable speeches.

Since these moments are so unique and may not happen again, Allure Films urges all couples to consider having the rehearsal dinner professionally filmed!

Why A Rehearsal Dinner With Help Create Your Perfect Wedding Film:

  • Guests are in their element at the rehearsal dinner, since it is not as formal as the wedding reception, so people giving speeches are much more comfortable.
  • Rehearsal dinners are much smaller than the reception, which makes the evening more intimate. Speaking among close family and friends is different from speaking to a large room full of guests which allows for more candid moments to be caught on film.
  • This is one of the only occasions that couples will have close friends and family share stories about them specifically.
  • The rehearsal dinner is consistently the most emotive and joyful occasion for the couple. The night can be full laughter as well as beautiful tears, which are unforgettable moments that can be reflected in your wedding story.
  • The dinner is a great opportunity for our videography team to build rapport with your family and friends so that on your wedding day, everyone is comfortable.

Why We Are Obsessed With The Wedding Video Booth Trend!

Standard Photo Booths are a thing of the past and Video Booths are the innovative, high-tech wedding must-have.

Adding a Speech Booth, Video Booth or Slow-Motion Booth to your wedding is the perfect way to capture memories and moments by allowing guests to record a message in high quality HD video.

Here are some tips for ensuring and enjoying candid and unforgettable footage:

Get Creative

Encourage your guests by creating cool prompts!

For example, frame a cute handmade sign that says Make Us Laugh | Share A Story | Give Us Advice, directing guests to your wedding video booth.

You can make a sign using a chalkboard, print signs (Pinterest and Etsy have great printables) or have custom signs professionally made.

Make It Interactive

Guests of all ages will have more fun in front of the camera if they have something to interact with.

Provide range of motion-friendly props for guests to choose from: Think confetti, bubbles, streamers, glasses, wigs, balloons, or Silly String.

Don’t Be Shy

To encourage everyone to participate, include a list of camera-worthy idea starters at the props table (a line-up of classic dance moves will work wonders), or give each table a specific challenge to complete together on camera.

If your guests were enthusiastic about participating, it’s likely that they’ll be even more excited to see the final product. Make sure they do!

Include the URL with your thank-you notes, host a viewing party for close friends and family, or share the video via social media.

Video booths are not the only hot video trend in the wedding industry!

Save the Date Announcements Videos and Love Story Films (perfect for wedding websites) are typically done at the couple’s engagement shoots and then edited into their final video, projected during dinner of their reception, and/or posted on their website.

Video Proposals can be captured by the groom using a small discreet camera, such as a GoPro, that stays hidden. For this romantic gesture to generate a flawless product, the help of a professional editor is key.

Review this helpful list & collages and be prepared for these items this season:

Flowers

This year we’re seeing an increase in tulips, gerber daisies, and garden roses. Pastel colors are in, and they are being accompanied with small pops of lavender and yellow.

The Dress

This spring, many brides are going for dresses with floral lace designs, dresses with decorative bling, and off-the-shoulder necklines.

Décor

One of the big trends we’re seeing in wedding décor this spring is repurposed objects from the home to make rustic decorations.

For example, mason jars are being used to hold flowers, and even to serve drinks. Old window shutters are being repurposed to hold place cards, as backdrops, and to display photos. Wheelbarrows are being used to hold wedding favors and floral arrangements.

Keeping Weddings Social With Hashtags!

Signature Drink at WeddingsAs a Wedding Filmmaker, it is always fun to see couples find new, clever ideas to engage their guests.

This past weekend, Allure Films captured a beautiful wedding that had been customized by the bride with loads of personal touches!

From fun seating charts to signature drinks (a clever play on the last names of the happy couple), each feature added its own element of fun to the guests’ experience.

One of my favorite elements was a handmade sign encouraging guests to take photos and share them via WedPics or Instagram with a special wedding hashtag.

Wedding Hashtag Idea

Now, as they bask on the beach during their honeymoon, the couple can find all of the amazing pictures taken by family and friends in one convenient location!

It is always an honor to capture a beautiful wedding story and preserve the moments and memories forever – that’s why I love my job so much!
