Magical Moments Caught On Film At Kaileen & Kyle’s Romantic Wedding

One look at Allure Films’ footage from Kaileen and Kyle’s beautiful wedding, and you’ll think you’ve been whisked away to the middle of a fairy tale!

After a heartwarming morning getting ready at her childhood home, Kaileen was chauffeured in a classic car to St. Francis of Assisi Parish, where she would tie the knot with her Prince Charming. Kyle was all smiles watching his bride walk down the aisle, and who could blame him! It was clear, from the moment our lovely bride and groom exchanged first looks, that they are truly a perfect match.

There was hardly a dry eye in the house as the couple exchanged vows. You could really feel the love this couple shares as Kaileen held back tears of joy at the alter.

Following their vows, the new Mr. and Mrs. took advantage of the beautiful scenery and stunning architecture of Lucien’s Manor to pose for the Allure team and the awesome photographers from Baiada Photography.

After the photos were taken (and many kisses were stolen!), it was time to party! Lucien’s Manor has seen its fair share of celebrations over the past 100 years. With breathtaking waterfalls (inside and out), and a romantic grand staircase, this venue was the perfect choice for Kaileen and Kyle’s big day.

Allure Films was excited to be a part of such a spectacular day, and to celebrate with such an amazing bride and groom. Thank you for letting us document one of the most important days of your life, and congratulations Kaileen and Kyle!

How to Comfortably Capture The Best Winter Wedding Video

January 20, 2016 Blog, Wedding Films

winter wedding video

If you’re planning a winter wedding, there’s no doubt that you’ve had stunning visions of magical moments caught on camera as you and your loved ones enjoy a snowy sunset or lighthearted snowball fight.

However, with these opportunities comes the risk of wintry weather creating a whole host of problems.

Your Wedding Winter Wonderland could quickly be transformed into a mess of mud, slush, and shivering guests with the slightest shift in weather patterns!

But wait! Before you pack up shop and move your festivities indoors, the experts at Allure Films have a few tips for keeping your guests warm and happy while ensuring you capture the moments you’ve envisioned.

After all, you don’t get a second shot to live in the moment!

Plan First

Before you head out into the rain, snow, sleet, or cold temperatures, it’s important to have a plan first!

Find out in advance which settings or backdrops you want, and who should be in each shot. Try to arrange a sequence of footage that require the same people so they can knock out all of their shots at once without waiting around in the cold.

For those who aren’t needed at any particular time, let them wait inside and enjoy the warmth!

Dress Warmly

When selecting your wedding party’s attire, think about the season and weather!

Choose long dresses for your bridesmaids and consider gifting them a wrap, coat, faux fur shrug, or boots to wear as part of your winter theme. For the groomsmen, put them in wintry suits or tuxedos that are seasonally appropriate.

Use Props

Don’t be afraid to get creative!

Colorful mittens, matching scarves, or mugs of hot cocoa are fun ways to add personality to your wedding while also adding some real-life warmth.

Take Breaks

When any particular member of your wedding party is not needed, let them wait where it’s warm!

If your location isn’t close to an indoor spot, consider renting a heater or building a small fire where guests can stay toasty. Another easy option is to keep a few cars parked close by with the heat on.

Teamwork

Since you have a plan, it should be easy to get the right people positioned just as you have envisioned.

Communicate your plan with your videographer and photographer so they know your expectations and can work cohesively. Don’t waste time fussing over who goes where while you’re waiting in the cold.

Finally, be sure to instruct your team to capture as many shots as possible during the candid moments. Waiting for everyone to look at the camera and smile perfectly will only take longer and limit the footage you desire.

Wedding Snapshots To Last A Lifetime

January 12, 2016 Blog

Shortly, you shall say a few words that will take you across a threshold of life. And things between you will never quite be the same. For after today, you shall say to the world, “this is my husband”, and “this is my wife”.

Such beautiful words spoken to our lovely bride and groom, Amy and Brice!

The Allure Films team was lucky enough to be a part of this special day in Newtown Square, PA. The weather was perfect, and the scenery at Aronimink Golf Club made a gorgeous backdrop. From the stunning décor, to all the finishing touches, Amy and Brice shared quite an amazing day.

We were able to document many touching moments both before and after the ceremony. It was in these moments that we truly got a glimpse of the love shared between Amy and Brice.

Aronimink Golf Club Wedding Video

One of our favorite moments of the day was when Amy presented her dad with a heartfelt gift. It is something he will cherish for years to come.  It was clear throughout the day how proud and excited both families were about Amy and Brice tying the knot.

Greek Wedding Traditions: What You Need To Know!

November 30, 2015 Blog

greek wedding videographyGoing to a Greek wedding? Get ready to celebrate not only the bride and groom, but their entire family as well!

Greek culture is very family-oriented – marriage and children are still the natural ‘next step’ for a serious relationship. While weddings typically focus on the gathering of two families, Greek food, music, dancing, and the wedding ceremony itself are equally important.

Allure Films has compiled a short list of just a few Greek traditions you’ll see at a Greek wedding:

The Preparation

  • On wedding day, the bride traditionally prepares at her house while her family gathers and watches. The bride to-be comes out in front of her family wearing her dress, and the bridesmaids and maid of honor proceed to add accessories.
  • The groom prepares by getting dressed in his tuxedo or very formal suit by the best man. The groom also sits in a chair and best man proceeds to shave his face in what is referred to as “the last shave.”

The Ceremony

  • The betrothal service begins at the door of the church where the priest blesses the rings and puts them on the couples’ fingers three times. During the marriage ceremony, the bride and groom stand together with two candles. (Most things are done three times during the betrothal service, in reverence to the Holy Trinity.)
  • Jordan almonds (called koufeta) are given to the guests to represent the sweetness (sugar coating) and the bitterness (almond) of life. They are given in odd numbers to represent that this new couple being formed is indivisible.

The Reception

  • Modern couples tend to share a home before they get married, so they usually have all the basic house needs covered. For gifts, a fine piece of art or cash is acceptable.
  • Expect a lot of food! Greek brides and grooms are notorious for filling their guests up with traditional Greek dishes, from roasted lamb to suckling pig to famous spinach and feta pies.
  • Greeks do a variation of the money dance where cash is thrown at the musicians and the couple while dancing.
  • Besides hearing opa (a sound of acclamation), you may also hear na zisoun (wishes for a long life), and I Ora I Kali, which means, “Here’s to the good times that are coming.”

Experience it for yourself! Enjoy this wonderful look at Arhodia and Kosmas’ Merion wedding.

The Start of a Story: Bridal Party Preparation

September 24, 2015 Blog, Wedding Films

Bridal Prep - Wedding Day VideoThe story of your big day doesn’t begin when you walk down the aisle.

In fact, your wedding day story begins much earlier – in the bridal suite (and groom’s suite), closest friends & family by your side, enjoying every moment as you get ready for the most memorable day of your life!

The intimate moments shared are a once in a lifetime experience that you will always remember.

Why not have Allure Films include these in your wedding day video?

Precious memories like sharing mimosas with your closest friends, seeing your hair and makeup for the first time, or finally tying up that wedding dress after months of anticipation – all are moments that happen well before you say your “I Do’s”.

Groom Prep - Wedding Day VideoBridal Prep Coverage from Allure Films includes memorable highlights of the bride preparing for the ceremony (think behind-the-scenes style footage).

This usually includes the bride having her hair and makeup done, the bridesmaids helping in the preparations, followed by the finishing touches to the dress and the jewelry.

Don’t think the groom is forgotten during this time! Depending on your wedding time and location, the groom may have the option to be filmed as well.

Filming the groom’s face as he practices his vows, fixes his tie, and receives some last-second advice from dad are also moments that look great on video.

Check out a brief example of what Bridal Party Coverage might add to your complete wedding day video!

Why You Need That Second Videographer At Your Wedding!

August 19, 2015 Blog

Second Videographer

Even if your wedding is an intimate affair, there is a huge advantage of hiring a second videographer.

While one skillful videographer can film your day well, two are much more likely to capture every last little perfect detail.

Allure Films knows what it takes to create the best video compilation of your big day. Here’s how a second videographer can help!

More Artistic

Having more than one videographer plays an important role in the artistry of the wedding film.

While the main videographer pays attention to the core action of the day and shoots comprehensive, safe coverage, the 2nd and 3rd videographers can spend time on risky but stylish camerawork. They are also the ones who can execute well-designed scenes.

More Angles

More cameras allow for different angles to be captured.

Imagine a beautiful shot of the bride walking down the isle, then a second videographer capturing the groom crying, then a third camera, showing the entire ceremony and including the view of the scenic ocean. Beautiful, right?

Guests & other photographers can often unintentionally get in the way of the video cameras. More operators on hand can ensure each camera is getting a clear shot during important moments.

More Coverage

More cameras also means a smaller chance that precious moments will be missed.

A multi-camera coverage often produces better, more pleasing results in each of the edited films.

More than one videographer will yield more scenes. This increases the odds that those little moments that make your big day unique will actually be captured on film.

More Creativity

Having more camera operators generally allows for more creativity.

This makes it possible to be in two places at the same time; this is especially crucial for the getting ready part of the day. Cameras in both the bridal and groom’s suites negate the need for one photographer to run back and forth between rooms and potentially miss an important moment.

These shots will also make for a more dynamic highlight edit.

If you want  an ultra-polished, cinematic-type of wedding film, a second (and even third!) videographer is a must!
