AFR’s National Showcase & Networking Tour 2014

One important job of those working in the wedding industry is to keep up with the latest (…and ever-changing) trends.

From fashion, to food, and right down to the furniture, it’s always good to know what’s big! We were thrilled to attend AFR’s National Showcase & Networking Tour this year. AFR Event Furnishings has always been on top of the latest furnishing designs.

We all have our own picture of the perfect wedding or event space – AFR truly has the perfect match for every vision. In addition to previewing (and lounging on) the trendy furnishings, this event also was a wonderful way to network with the top Philadelphia wedding & event professionals.

Julia & Mike’s Hotel du Pont Wedding Celebration

We are so fortunate that we get be a part of one of the most magical days in a couple’s life. We were thrilled when Julia & Mike invited us to document their big day! From the heartfelt father-daughter moments before the wedding, and the first reveal, Julia and Mike’s day was filled with love and excitement.

After getting ready, we headed to Hotel du Pont for a gorgeous ceremony. Time and time again this place truly “wows” us with it’s beauty and fabulous professionals. Philadelphia Event Planners did an amazing job in preparing for this special occasion.

Julia, Mike, and their guests had a wonderful time celebrating. Congrats and best wishes to the new Mr. & Mrs.!

Top 5 Winter Wedding Trends For 2014-2015

Planning (or considering) a winter wedding? Get inspired by these winter wedding trends for 2014-2015!

1. All About That Lace

This winter we’re seeing an increase in long sleeve and half sleeve lace wedding dresses. This look is a great twist of classy and chic. Throw in a fur bridal wrap for a look that’s as warm as it is beautiful!

2. Let Them Eat Cake

For many of us, the cake is the second most important part of a wedding (the bride and groom come first, of course)!

Step aside “fancy & elaborate” – it’s time for “rustic” to shine. This year, we’re seeing many simplified and delicious wedding cakes.

These designs incorporate a wintery-nature feel – many include pinecones, leaves, pine, and tree bark. Throw in a silver or gold accent to put a unique spin on things.

3. Going ‘Green’

This winter, expect to see more greenery in bridal floral arrangements. Many winter arrangements will have non-floral components (berries, greenery, branches, jewels, and even silver balls). Ivory and white roses go fabulous with a green accent.

4. Eat, Drink, And Be Merry

Do-it-yourself cookie bars, hot chocolate bars, and fondue bars are going to be big this season. Let’s be honest –  who doesn’t love to customize their own treats? With toppings galore, your guests are sure to love any sweet treat that they get to decorate on their own.

Along with the hot cocoa, we’re also seeing an incline in these winter favorites: spiced cider, cranberry champagne, and hot mulled wine. Throw in some classic combos, like a grilled cheese & tomato soup, or cookies & milk, and you’ll certainly have a crowd pleaser!

5. The Finishing Touches

Small intricate details are often the most remembered. Customized signs and décor are a great way to add those personal touches to your big day.

Get your family & friends involved by having them customize ornaments or a quilt with messages for the bride and groom. This will be a fun and interactive way to create a special keepsake for the newlyweds.

Wonderful In Wilmington: Kara & Samuel’s Wedding

Kara and Samuel’s lovely June wedding took place at Hotel du Pont in Wilmington, DE.

This historic and elegant venue was the perfect location for this fabulous celebration. We were thrilled to be invited to document all of the magic as it unfolded. As our lovely bride and groom exchanged smiles, or glanced at each other, we could tell that they were truly meant to be. Celebrations Design Group did a remarkable job with the floral decor, too.

Jessica & Glenn Celebrate At Vie!

Once upon a time, the Allure Films team was invited to join a beautiful bride (Jessica) and dashing groom (Glenn) for their enchanting Philadelphia wedding.

This elegant celebration took place just near Philadelphia’s City Hall at Cescaphe’s Vie. Along with some decor by Beautiful Blooms Events, and the lovely Mr. & Mrs., this night was a fairytale come true.

EBE-LA Stars kept the party going all night long as everyone enjoyed great tunes. Our favorite words of the evening: “You guys have your own language and you spoil each other to no ends. Watching the way that you make each other giggle and laugh is something different. You protect each other in a way that is indescribable.”

Randi & Tim’s One Atlantic Wedding

Randi and Tim’s wedding day was filled with spectacular moments, lots of laughter, and many smiles.

Allure Films was thrilled that they asked us to capture the magic. This lovely couple shared their big day among family and friends at One Atlantic in Atlantic City.

This ocean-front location offered the most stunning view for our bride and groom’s big day. On top of the amazing view, the interior is just as gorgeous. Beautiful Blooms did a fabulous job with the decor, as always. Cliff Mautner Photography was also there to document each moment as it unfolded.

Our favorite quote of the evening: “My wish for you Randi and Tim is for you to have a life filled with fun and excitement, terrific hopes and dreams, love and happiness, and joy in each other forever.” Such beautiful words for a beautiful couple, and we wish them the same.

Tori & Ryan’s Wedding At The Reeds

“They have found in each other a companion for the journey of life. In each other, they compliment, inspire, and feel completely comfortable. Home is where love resides, and that is what Ryan and Tori have found in each other.”

Those are just a few of the beautiful words from Tori and Ryan’s summer wedding at The Reeds at Shelter Haven in Stone Harbor, NJ. This gorgeous and sophisticated location offers a stunning view overlooking the water.

The wedding party was a large and fun crowd to be with! Many smiles and laughs were exchanged throughout this joyous celebration. We loved the ‘beachy’ feel and little touches that made this day feel special. From the groomsmen’s entrance by water to the message in the sky, this day was certainly unforgettable.

We were thrilled when we were asked to document Ehren and Scott’s wedding day. It is always an honor to be a part of such a special and unforgettable day.

We were even more excited that Ehren and Scott’s big day took place at Ballroom at The Ben. This extraordinary and elegant venue leaves us speechless every single time. The entire Finley Catering team is just incredible to work with, and they played a big part in Ehren and Scott’s celebration.

This wedding had everything; fine dining, the perfect atmosphere, and of course, dancing! BVT Live! – Sid Miller Dance Band was there to keep the party going as everyone hit the dance floor. What an amazing day! We were so lucky to be a part of it all.

Emily and Peter shared a fabulous June wedding, and we were trilled to be a part of it! These two said “I do” at St. Mary’s, and followed with a fun-filled celebration at Sheraton Valley Forge Hotel. This unique and spacious location was the perfect place for family and friends to dance the night away and enjoy delicious food. With décor by Eventricity, this venue became even more stunning and it was the perfect place to celebrate Emily and Peter. Danielle & Michael’s Overbrook Golf Club Wedding

Let’s head on over to Overbrook Golf Club for a glimpse into Danielle and Michael’s magical day. This location is stunning as is, but we were blown away by Petah Bashano Event & Floral Design‘s beautiful decor.

From beginning to end, Danielle and Michael’s big day was full of heartfelt moments and joy. Even the crowd was teary-eyed during a few special moments. We are grateful that we got to be a part of this exciting day. Philip Gabriel Photography was also there to capture each moment as it unfolded.

Our favorite quote of the evening: “Mike, Danielle, you are the captains of your fate and the masters of your souls. If you believe this in your minds and feel it in your hearts, there is no limit to what you two can accomplish together.”
